Next weekend sees the celebration of The Great Get Together www.greatgettogether.org
Inspired in the memory of MP Jo Cox who was tragically murdered two years ago now.
The Great Get Together will take place on 22nd – 24th June 2018, which would have been Jo’s 44th birthday.
There are events all over the country and Skipton Craven Rotary Club wanted there to be one in Skipton and District, their wonderful hometown.
So Rotary Member David Squire came up with the idea of an event, The Great Get Together Luncheon at Skipton Town Hall.
The event is open to anyone who is alone and might benefit from a free lunch and an afternoon of friendship, companionship and entertainment.
The Rotary club has worked with Tesco Skipton where Dean Majors has organised all of the food and with North Craven Age UK and Carers Resource in Skipton to create the event next Sunday 24 June at 12 noon.
Sally Skipper of Carers Resource has told the Rotary Club there are many people in the area who are lonely and would benefit from the opportunity to get out and meet others. Often they are caring for a relative or partner and never are able to get out socially. They may also be the person being cared for.
If you know anyone who might benefit from this great FREE event Tickets can be obtained from:
Sally Skipper at Carers’ Resource Skipton; Tel: 01756 700888; email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Sue Bradley at Age UK North Craven; Tel: 01729 823066; email: email@example.com
Bookings will close at midday on Wednesday 20th June.
The Rotary Club of Skipton Craven hope that this will be an annual event.
