Pinsuti’s next concert is coming up soon! After our very successful concert in Burley in Wharfedale, we are now back in Skipton for a celebration of Christmas, with a wide range of Christmas music.
Our programme includes Herbert Howells’ timeless “A Spotless Rose”, “The Christ-child” by Gabriel Jackson, and the poignant setting of “Lully, Lulla” by Kenneth Leighton. We are delighted to have with us Anna Beresford playing the cello. Anna is currently studying music at Manchester, manages the University Orchestra and conducts a number of orchestral and choral ensembles in the University. She will be playing selections from Bach’s Cello Suite in C major, and joining us for the exciting “Snow Angel” for Choir, djembe, piano and cello, by Sarah Quartel. This is a stunning composition in five parts, celebrating the love, beauty and strength that a child’s voice can bring to our troubled world.
Alongside this, we will have some more frequently heard choral Christmas favourites, such as Cornelius’ “Three Kings” with solo baritone, and the lovely Basque carol “Gabriel’s Message”.
Pinsuti concerts are friendly and enjoyable occasions, and we hope you will join us for this evening. Rather than an interval, there will be refreshments at the end of the concert.
Tickets are £5 on the door or from choir members, with under 16’s free. Come and join us! (Please note the earlier time, as it is a Sunday)
