Skipton Craven Rotary Collect For Hurricane Relief

By Brian Stott

We have all been shocked by the trail of devastation left across the Caribbean area by Hurricane Irma.

At Skipton Craven Rotary we have already taken action. We have sent £600 to Shelterbox who are already providing relief in the stricken region.

Take a look at Shelterbox’s web site

Shelterbox is a well-respected UK agency. It originated from the Rotary Club community in Cornwall and has become an established Charity amongst many Rotary Clubs across the country including ours. £600 donation is the approximate cost of a “Shelterbox”. You will see on the photographs on the website and this one the Rotary Logo on the green Shelterboxes.

So having sent our £600 we would like to send some more money. To help us do so we have been very kindly allowed by Tesco Skipton to hold a collection at their store on Saturday 16 September. If you are shopping there on Saturday please put some of your spare change in our collecting buckets. It will be greatly appreciated. 100% of the money collected will go directly to Shelterbox.

If your busy schedule means you are unable to see us in person you can donate directly via the Shelterbox website. Thank you in anticipation of your donation.
