Club COO James Mason has apologised on behalf of Simon Grayson to over 2,300 Bradford City fans who traveled to Blackpool to see them lose 5-0.
Being booed off at Half Time Bantams fans were left asking questions with one fan saying “Can anyone give me a reason why Simon Grayson should stay?”
In a post match statement Mason said:
“We had over 2,300 at the game and I think a lot of them came with a bit of renewed optimism and expectation.
“We still had the final chance to get into the play-offs and they came in their numbers.
“We applaud them for that and I don’t think any of us expected to get beaten so roundly. I’d like to apologise for that.
“I’m a City fan like them so I’m just as upset. But equally I’d like to applaud the few players who did go over and say thank you at the end of the game.
“They know who they are and I’d like to thank them for that because that showed some real character.
“All Bradford City fans ever want is a performance of commitment, true grit and 100 per cent. Wins aren’t ever guaranteed.
“Simon quite rightly was critical of a lot of things he saw today and we’d just like to apologise to the fans.
“We hope that on Thursday (against Shrewsbury) we can give them something to be proud about for the rest of the season and claw some respectability back.”
