The Pendle Running Festival 2017 consisted of four events. On Saturday 15th July there were 2 hilly road races, a 10k and a half marathon. The half marathon has around 2000ft of ascent so definitely not for the faint-hearted! 131 brave runners tackled the hills. On Sunday 16th July there was a lovely

Event organiser Molly Ralphson said she was delighted with how the festival turned out. “There was such positive feedback from all involved, the runners loved the routes and all commented on how friendly the event was.
“We live in such a beautiful part of the country, I love showing it off!”
The first male home for the 10k race in a time of 37 minutes and 8 seconds was Gareth Booth from Horwich, the first female was Sarah Cumber from Halifax Harriers in a time of 42:34.
The first finisher in the half marathon in a time of 1:25:53 was Neal Emmerson from Radcliffe AC. The first female to finish the half marathon was Melanie Blackhurst from Todmorden Harriers in a time of 1:44:23.
The trail race was won in an incredible time of 31mins 40 seconds by Nick Gaskgell of Ribble Valley Harriers and the 1st lady home in a time of 37.44 was Monica Padilla from Wharfedale Harriers.
