Owner of Zed V Photography, Rob Metcalfe, has set up a fundraising appeal to enable him to purchase a very special gift for a local amateur photographer. Liam David Adams, regularly takes photos in and around Skipton from his mobile phone and then shares them with the local community via Facebook groups. His love for photography is apparent and as an experienced, professional photographer, Rob is determined to raise enough money to buy him the professional camera he so desperately desires.
“Liam is a local Skipton man that is known by many for the fantastic photos that he posts in the Skipton Community Noticeboard Facebook group.
Every photo he takes attracts hundreds of likes and comments, bringing the community together to celebrate the beauty of Skipton. I started to notice that Liam has a real passion and love for photography!
I’d seen him post a question on the noticeboard, “What kind of content do you all like to see? I like taking photos”. Then I saw a post, which stated it was his birthday this week and I wanted to get him a gift.
Liam brings the community together every day and makes us all smile with his wonderful photos, so I feel we need to do something for him in return! I decided to set up a GoFundMe page to try to raise £1000 so I can buy him a Canon or Nikon DSLR camera with lenses and a kit bag. Once he has chosen his camera, I will then teach him about the camera and its settings. If he wants, I will also give him free photography lessons to help him improve his techniques.
I’ve set up the page, shared it and so far, our local community has raised £475. I am completely blown away by the response and it just shows what an amazing guy Liam is! People love his photos, his passion and I’m so glad I can help him further his love for photography!
It is his 31st birthday tomorrow so, Happy Birthday, Liam! ”
We hope that Rob manages to reach his £1,000 target and make Liam’s birthday an unforgettable one. If Liam does get his new camera, we would be more than happy to publish some of his work on The Skipton Press to help him to share his creativity with more of the local community.
