Featured Event: Artyfacts

Skipton Town Hall
Friday 7th October – Friday 23rd December 2016
Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm
Location: Gallery at Skipton Town Hall

Opening last Friday, Artyfacts is an innovative new exhibition featuring works of art made by people living with dementia.  Using Craven Museum’s Roebuck art collection and rich social history archives as sources of inspiration, the artists involved have created a diverse and interesting collection of pieces that will be exhibited throughout the gallery’s winter season.

The Artyfacts exhibition is a joint initiative between Craven Museum & Gallery and Pioneer Projects and has been funded by the Arts Council Museum Resilience Fund, as part of the Craven’s Museum: Indispensable project.  The event has already received positive reviews from locals, so get yourself down and see what the fuss is all about.

Stray FM have also written an excellent piece on the exhibition, detailing the important work being done by Artyfacts in exploring the link between creativity and dementia.  You can read it here.
