Cancer Support Yorkshire Opens Doors To Skipton Preloved Shop

Preloved Charity Shop

Cancer Support Yorkshire are pleased to announce the opening of its first ever charity shop, which took place on Saturday 10th December.  The new store, lovingly named ‘Preloved Shop’, is conveniently located on Belmont Bridge in Skipton and offers a wide range of items, including ladies, mens and childrens fashion, jewellery, homewares, toys, books and Christmas gifts.

The Preloved Shop is yet another of Cancer Support Yorkshire’s developments in the Skipton area.  It follows on from the launch of its dedicated Support Centre on Otley Street in October 2014 and the extremely successful temporary pop-up shop in Craven Court in August of this year.

Gaynor Brown, Shop Manager, commented: “This is our first venture into the charity shop world and is a very exciting time for us as.  Skipton was the natural choice for our first shop as we have a centre on Otley Street helping local people affected by cancer.  We were blown away by the levels of kindness and generosity in August, and supporters who kindly give donations, volunteer their time or support us by purchasing pre-loved items can rest assured that all proceeds will be helping local people.”

So with only a few days left before Christmas, why not pop in and make a few last minute purchases?  You will be guaranteed a warm welcome, a wide selection of gifts and the satisfaction of knowing that all of your money will be going to a good cause.

All proceeds will go to Cancer Support Yorkshire, who are an independent charity with centres in Bradford and Skipton.  They provide support to those affected by a cancer diagnosis, helping with practical issues such as transport services, welfare rights advice and general information, whilst also providing emotional support by offering counselling, complementary therapies and a range of classes, courses and support groups.  If you or anyone you know has been affected by cancer please contact us on 01274 77 66 88.
