BD23 Is The Most Expensive BD Postcode When It Comes To Property


BD23 has been revealed as the most expensive BD postcode when it comes to getting a foot on the property ladder. 

According to figures published by – the hourly wage required to live in BD23 is £16.65 per hour, which equates to £32,467.50 per year. This is more than double the minimum wage for a 25-year-old which currently sits at £7.50.

Second to Skipton, is Baildon (BD17) where prospective buyers would need to be on £14.16 an hour – or £25,488 a year – in order to afford to buy a home.

These figures are based on a 37.5 hour week and spending 35% of their income on mortgage repayments, assuming a 20% deposit and a 25-year fixed rate mortgage with 2.63% interest.

The cheapest of all the BD postcodes is BD1, which is Bradford City Centre, in which the per hour wage is £4.02 in order to be able to afford to purchase a house.
