Alexis Wilson-Barrett was born in Cambridgeshire and moved to Skipton as a young child, where still remains with her widowed mother, husband and young son.
Whilst studying English Literature and Creative Writing as part of her BA (Hons) Combined Studies degree, Alexis discovered a love for the written word – particularly 19th Century literature and the Sensation novels of Wilkie Collins. After graduating from The University of Bradford and penning various short stories in her spare time, her passion for writing quickly developed into a love of copywriting whilst working as a Marketing Executive in Skipton.
Now, the owner of Wilson-Barrett Copywriting, she offers marketing and copywriting services to businesses in the North of England. Alexis thoroughly enjoys all forms of copywriting but is particularly fond of promoting the work of local charities and fundraisers – a service which she regularly offers on a voluntary basis.
