As the nation gets ready to support British players at Wimbledon – a local wealth management firm looks closer to home. Prosperity Financial Planning, whose expertise lies in the ability to financially plan for the future, is supporting Skipton Tennis Centre to help attract and inspire more local young players to the sport.
Skipton Tennis Centre, based at Sandylands Sports Centre in Skipton, has been instrumental in developing tennis in Craven providing lessons and games for all abilities and ages and participates in all the local leagues. Advocate Lee Windle from Prosperity Financial Planning, a keen sportsman and member of the tennis club, has seen the significant benefit sport has upon youngsters. His own teenage son is a footballer and has played for Bradford City FC’s 1st team.
Serious about sport, Lee who lives in Skipton recognises it is increasingly competing with many other activities to grab youngsters’ attention. He has followed the development of Skipton’s coaching programme, delivered by tennis ace Adam Cox, and agreed to serve up further sponsorship to help the tennis hub to continue to promote the sport locally.
Lee Windle said, “Sport is a fantastic way to show youngsters how to work well with a partner. When we consider ways we can inspire the next generation, nothing is more important than encouraging them to take up a healthy and sociable sporting activity like tennis to improve their fitness and life skills.”
Adam Cox, head tennis coach at Skipton Tennis Centre said, “We are delighted to receive this sponsorship. Prosperity Financial Planning has already proactively helped to further the development of tennis in Skipton and increase participation in the game, and we now hope to be able to boost the numbers of youngsters playing this great game further with this support.”
