Many readers will have benefitted from Airedale Hospital over the years, and after reports that the Childrens Ward Playroom at Airedale Hospital was running low on toys, books and other play items, the community has been pulling together, donating toys and raising funds to revamp.
One person who has been motivated by this news is local girl Molly Richardson, who is part of a local NCS (National Citizen Service) team. She and her team aim to raise £500 in order to revamp the children’s ward playroom.
“My team and I have decided that we would love to re-vamp the children’s ward playroom at Airedale General hospital. This is all achievable with one thing, YOUR help! We are going for a minimum of £500 so that we can purchase toys, books, and other things for the play room. Also, we’re holding a grand opening for the play room where we will be having a tea party for the children and their families. And as you can imagine, this also costs money.”
As well as the online fundraising, local businesses are also getting involved, with The Coffee Shop, located next door to the Swan Inn at Carleton will be donating its entire profits from THIS SUNDAYS trade to help her team achieve their goal. So if you’re out and about on Sunday 30th July 8.30-11.45am, sure to stop by!
The current figure raised so far is £330, and every little helps, so if you can afford to donate anything, please do so!
We will keep up with Molly and look forward to seeing the revamp!
