We absolutely love this time of year at The Skipton Press. The autumnal days surrendering to winter’s icy grasp, the exciting prospect of snow to bring out the inner child out in all of us, the roaring log fires and warming mugs of hot chocolate… Does it get any better?
Well, it does for the people of Skipton, because we have the fantastic Skipton Christmas Market to look forward to as well!
This year, celebrating its 22nd anniversary, the Market will take place on Sunday 4th and Sunday 11th December, starting at 10am. As usual, it will run the full length of the High Street.
Skipton Christmas Market – World Beater!
According to www.christmasmarkets.com, the definitive site when it comes to such matters, Skipton Market is one of the top ten of its kind in the world! And it’s not difficult to see why. With lots of great independent stalls lining the way, selling unique, beautiful items, it’s a great place to grab a gift for your loved ones.
And even if you’ve done all your Christmas shopping, there’s still lots to see and do. There’ll be plenty of festive food and drink on offer and plenty of entertainment to get you into the seasonal spirit. Including…
Making an uproarious return will be Granny Turismo, the world’s first (and only…) shopping trolley dance display team. They’ve been a regular at the Market for some years now and we can’t wait to see these speedy seniors again!
Find out more about these fantastic knit-wits on their website here!
And once you’ve had your fill of gifts, good food and gung-ho grannies, the day finishes with a procession to the Holy Trinity Church and a rousing carol service. And if that doesn’t get you into the Christmas spirit, nothing will!
