Skipton’s very own canal side Pub has been awarded the coveted Keighley and Craven CAMRA Pub of the Season!
Pubs of the Season are selected by popular vote at CAMRA branch meetings. Two awards are made per year and pubs can be nominated by any CAMRA member belonging to the Keighley and Craven branch. Nominations and voting are a month apart to ensure as many prospective voters as possible can visit all the pubs nominated!
The Pub of the Season award has been running continuously since 1985, and is nearly as old as the Branch itself! In 2014, they decided to switch from 4 awards a year to 2, starting with the 2014 Summer award. Pubs are judged on a range of criteria, including overall atmosphere, quality of beer and service, amongst others.
Ian, Pamela & Zoe Clarke, owners of the Boat House Bar said “We are very grateful to receive the pub of the season award from CAMRA and would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, suppliers and customers. It has been a hectic first 16 months of trading but we couldn’t be happier with how well the bar is doing and with the support we have received from our customers and the loyalty and hard work from our staff have made this achievable. Thank you to CAMRA for the recognition and thank you to our team!”
What People Say About The Boat House
John Croft visited The Boat House recently and said “This pub is always our number one choice in Skipton. Great location next to the busy canal junction with under cover outdoor seating and heaters. Well kept real ale at a good price and great staff. Also a nice log fire in winter.”
With a focus on Real Ale, we asked The Boat House to send us a snap of the current ales that they have on sale, and it represents a real passion for local ale, with their beer coming from local breweries.
