The Airedale Heifer in Sandbeds will host a Day of Dance in aid of Manorlands Hospice on Saturday 3rd June. The open event will feature a wide range of traditional Morris dancing styles including Border, North West, Cotswold and Clogging.
Manager Heather Hawker has organised the event, inviting sides from across the north to attend, including Persephone, The Flagcrackers of Craven, Crook Morris, Rainbow Morris, Clogorythm, Buttercross Belles and Fiddle & Feet. There will be a charity collection taking place plus a raffle with all proceeds going to Manorlands.
Dancing will begin at 12pm and sides will dance at the front and back of the pub on Bradford Road between Crossflatts and Riddlesden with an opportunity to join in.
The dancers will unite in a mass show dance with all sides dancing together from 4.30pm to 5pm.
Afterwards, visitors are invited to stay on to look around the Airedale Heifer’s own brewery and sample its Bridgehouse ale. The public is invited to bring along musical instruments and continue the music, song and dance session informally into the evening. Bar meals will be available and it’s hoped the weather will be kind for making use of the garden.
There is a bus stop outside the door and the train station is only a few minutes’ walk away.
