Award Winning Baby Sensory Classes  Arrive In Craven

Baby Sensory classes, which were awarded the prestigious whatson4littleones award for “Best National Baby & Toddler Development Activity (newborn to 2 years)”  in 2016, use a range of stimulating sensory sounds, equipment and items to aid baby development. Music such as Bastille’s Pompeii, classical pieces and rock and roll as well as more bespoke Baby Sensory songs such as Say Hello are sung depending on the lesson plan being followed that day. Parents and babies also enjoy play using items such as colourful parachutes, bouncing balls, rainbows, bells and fibre optics, with classes aiming to use a range of different stimuli. There are many adventures to be had such as going under the sea, into the jungle or even to outer space! Sitting on soft matting, babies begin to socialise and build up relationships with adults and other children during the co-ordinated play sessions. Nicola, 35, said: “Baby Sensory uses a range of different methods to help develop the senses. “It is a complete approach from birth to 13 months. Baby Sensory was devised by Dr Lin Day, a specialist in early years education.” Parents and babies are able to bond during massage and exercises to music. Focus also goes on the colours used in particular sessions, with some evoking particular emotions or senses. Green and yellow, for instance, relate to happiness and tranquillity. Nicola said: “Babies learn more in the first year of life than at any other time and their brain doubles in size by the time they reach their first birthday. “I’ve been running classes in Horsforth, Menston and Ilkley for several years now and I’m excited to finally be bringing classes to the Craven area” She added: “It is a fantastic programme and there are literally hundreds of classes nationwide.  With over 50 different lesson plans, every session is different” Nicola is holding a free taster session on Tuesday 7th February 2017 at Glusburn Institute.  If you’d like to book a place, please visit the find a class page at www.babysensory.com  Alternatively, please contact Nicola on 07800 930640 or via email bradfordnorth@babysensory.co.uk
